Pembroke

This listed building is one of 5 pairs of semi-detached villas built as an elegant, single development on the west side of Richmond Green in the mid nineteenth century.

MJA provided a new, two storey side extension housing a lowered garage and utility room at lower-ground floor level, plus a new kitchen and dining area on the upper ground floor. In the original rooms we provide a study, gym and wine cellar on the lower ground floor. On the upper ground floor we remodelled the open plan drawing room and provided a new library.

The upper two floors were all remodelled with six bedrooms and new bathrooms and shower rooms on all floors. We designed a mezzanine bed platform for one of the four children in what was originally the smallest bedroom.

We redesigned the garden, providing a contemporary, full width pool with water feature plus a bridge link to the house. The pool was used as an alternative to a solid balustrade, which would have interrupted views from house to garden.
