St John’s Wood

This unique Grade II Listed Coach House in St John’s Wood was in a bit of a state when our client purchased it. Having last been modernised in the 1990s, the interiors were tired with poor levels of daylight, and the architecture, whilst creatively designed for a former owner, had become very dated.

Working closely with the interior design team at Tollgard Studio, we transformed the space through a handful of careful changes to create a light and airy contemporary home, whilst celebrating the architectural features within the existing house.

This included unlocking the issues with poor natural light, which was achieved through opening up the main roof above the feature spiral staircase, and splitting the roof between the extension and the original building, both allowing daylight to flood into the centre of the deep ground floor plan.

The works also included a full building management system, climate control and audio visual installation, all carefully integrated into the architecture of the home in conjunction with LinkIT Solutions.
